Baily's Shaft engine house, one of a small number of 'flat-roofed' engine houses.  In fact, they had a shallow, hipped roof surrounded by a parapet; this example was built in 1905.  The engine was supplied by the Bedford Foundry at Tavistock but was second-hand from Devon Great Consols.
