A more recent view of Wheal Cock - compare this with the photo of the ladderway. The wall covers the part of the stope stabilised when the shaft was reused in the early 20th century. Part of the open stope can be seen below it. The quartz leader in the lode can be seen towards the bottom of the photograph. The squat structure on the horizon is the modern collar and grille of Wheal Cock Skip Shaft, set within the waste tips of the mine.
