This enigmatic feature has been interpreted as the base of a Cornish frame although this seems unlikely. The feature has the appearance of a buddle although the area for catching material is very shallow and could have held very little. The exposed cement surface is stained by tin slimes but this is no guarantee that their presence is intentional. The cement 'head' is asymmetric, set inside a circular launder and crossed by another launder lying at a lower level than the former.
