Pair of concrete frames at the northern end of the site with New Cook's and Robinson's engine houses in the background. These features are usually described as a buddles or a stepped buddles however technically they did not operate as buddles but more like round frames and have been described in the literature as "fixed convex stepped bed" frames. These worked in a similar way to a buddle in that feed was introduced centrally and the steps of the frame were individually swept by brushes however when the pulp reached the outermost edge it was split into concentrate and tailings in separate launders. These concrete frames were also used at the Tolvaddon streamworks.
